Mark the places that repeatedly restore your soul
Not just a single pleasant memory.
The specific locations you return to—physically or mentally—to find your center.
We believe the world is not just defined by borders, roads, and cities.
It is defined by the places where we feel most alive.
This Axis Mundi Project is a global, collaborative endeavor to map these points of profound connection. We often recognize them as places we go to clear our head, that help us remember who we are, that restore us.
What is an Axis Mundi? Traditionally, an Axis Mundi is a "Center of the World"—a shared, yet personally influential site like Mount Fuji or the Oracle of Delphi.
But we are mapping the Personal Axis Mundi. We believe wherever you have found that resets your inner self is equally important. It is the stone bench, the quiet corner, or the bend in a river where you return over and over to feel grounded, inspired, or transformed. It is a place you revisit for a profound sense of connection, clarity, or to reset your inner self. It is a place where you are able to let go of anxiety, find calm, and recharge. It may re-energize you, lift your spirits, and fill you with motivation. There are many ways to describe the feelings these special places that we return to provide us.
Why participate?
- Anchor Your Memory: By marking a location, you acknowledge its persistent power in your life.
- See the Connections: Discover that you are not alone in touching energy currents in unexpected places.
- Build the Ledger: Help us create a permanent record of the "Sacred Mundane"—the ring of trees, the rooftop, the hidden alcove—that matters just as much as the temple.
This map is anonymous (initials only). We track the location and the feeling the place imbues in you, not the contributor.

- If a place is already marked, you can add it again with your detailed experience. It stacks with others.
- If you're at the place now, use the location target icon to activate GPS.
- On mobile device, turn your screen horizontally.
